Why work with a hiring agency?

Working with hiring companies is just one way of increasing your chances of finding the job you want. Hiring agencies often act as an “intermediary” that identifies you and connects you to the employment needs expressed by employers. Often, employers choose to advertise open positions through agencies to relieve their business system of the time-consuming process of recruiting and selecting the right person.

The services offered by DEKRA are employee assignment (agency work), HR consulting services and Event & Logistic services. Agency work services refer to temporary staffing (based on the administrative model or the effective working hours model), Try & Hire services or preselection, recruitment and selection of candidates. Services include creating and announcing job ads, selecting candidates, collecting documentation and drafting employment contracts, applying for pension and health insurance, salary calculation, salary payment and other necessary administrative tasks. What happens after I apply for a job via a DEKRA job ad?

Recruitment consultants review candidate applications and CVs and check the extent to which the candidate's experience meets the job requirements specified by the client. Shortlisted candidates are invited to an interview with a consultant. After that, depending on the assessment of knowledge and motivation for the job, they are recommended or not recommended to the client. Sometimes, at this stage, due to the client's specific requirements, it is necessary to take part in a psychological assessment or check for particular knowledge. After DEKRA, the client takes over and conducts further rounds of interviews and job negotiations. If the candidate accepts the job offer and starts working, i.e. at the end of the recruitment process, the agency informs the other candidates about the outcome of the selection. The CVs of the candidates are automatically stored in the DEKRA database until the end of the current job selection, and the CVs of those candidates who have given their consent to retain the data are stored for up to 5 years.

If I apply for one of the job ads through DEKRA, can I apply for other jobs?

Of course! You can apply for as many jobs as you are motivated and qualified for. And if the position is offered to you, you choose if you want to take the next step.

What information must the CV contain?

When submitting your CV through an open application or applying for a specific job, make sure you provide all of the following personal information: address (street, city, state), phone number, email address, education information (school, title, year of completion), information on work experience with details of each job (period of employment, company name, company location, job title, brief job description), knowledge of foreign languages, driver's license, other information you consider important, e.g. personal skills, interests and ambitions, hobbies.

Can I email my CV directly to DEKRA?

If you send your CV to one of the contact email addresses, you will be redirected to the DEKRA career page, where it is necessary to register and open a profile. The procedure is exceptionally straightforward and fast. The agency uses specialized business software to manage candidate databases and numerous selection processes so they are made more efficient. Logging in via the link on the career page is also essential for informing oneself about the use of personal data and for giving consent to the use of your data.

Why are ads sometimes anonymous, without an employer name?

Employers want a professional approach to the employment process, so they entrust the role of “middle man” to the employment agency. The anonymity of advertising guarantees employers the smooth running of their daily work process and no interruptions, and discretion excludes the possibility of "pressure" on stakeholders; thus, the employer maintains its integrity. The agency ensures strict confidentiality of applications, and gives selected candidates the information about the employer in private, then offers the possibility of choosing whether or not they want to compete for the job with the said employer.

Can I do the interview with the agency online?

DEKRA conducts online interviews and meetings, as well as online testing and assessment of knowledge and skills. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, this way of working was reserved for the first interviews with candidates outside Zagreb. Since March 2020, we have been doing interviews via video call almost exclusively. DEKRA uses the Microsoft Teams platform, which is very simple and practical. After arranging an interview with the consultant by phone, you will receive an invitation to the meeting with a link to join. If you use a mobile phone, you need to install the application; the installation will not be necessary while using a computer or laptop.

Why does the employment process take so long?

DEKRA, as an intermediary that has recruitment as its primary activity, constantly strives to carry out the recruitment phase (advertising and inviting candidates) in the shortest possible period, which can last 2 to 3 weeks. Following the recommendation, the employer determines the pace of further steps. It depends on how the employer will organize his time and conduct interviews with the recommended candidates, and also how much time they will need for the next rounds of interviews and making the final decision. This process can sometimes happen quickly, but it takes 5 to 6 weeks on average.

How does temporary staffing through an employment agency work?

Agency work is a business model between the agency, the user (the company to which the agency workers are assigned) and the employee who is assigned to the user. The agency and the user enter into an agreement on the assignment of employees, which covers all important features of business cooperation prescribed by the Labor Act. Then, the agency and the employee sign an employment contract by which the employee is employed, and through a referral, he/she starts working for the user.

Who is the employer of the agency worker?

The agency registers the employee for compulsory pension and health insurance. In that sense, it is considered the employer of the employee it assigns/provides to the client for a certain period under certain conditions. Regarding the obligations governing safety and health at work, the user/client is considered an employer under the Labor Act.
